Best Song of 2013: One Direction - Best Song Ever

One Direction kembali melakukan gebrakan hebat dengan merilis album ketiga mereka Midnight Memories. Dengan jarak yang ngga terlalu jauh dengan perilisan album Take Me Home, mereka ingin membuktikan kalo mereka ngga main-main dan bakalan terus konsisten di jalur musik mereka. Nah, "Best Song Ever" dipilih sebagai lead-single album baru mereka tersebut. Gua emang bukan fans OneD, tapi... gua rasa BSE boleh jugalah buat masuk list Best Songs of 2013.

Lagu power pop berdurasi 3 menit 21 detik ini lumayan baguslah menurut gua. Nada-nadanya catchy, beatnya bikin yang denger jadi pengen joget. Pembagian suara dari kelima cowok ini lumayan merata lah, kemampuan vokal mereka juga makin meningkat. Ngga heran kalo hits ini bener-bener ditunggu-tunggu Directioners dan para penikmat musik global.

Soal materi lagu ngga perlu ditanya, berkat tim yang solid serta kerja sama yang apik dari personil-personilnya, akhirnya tercipta satu hits yang pas banget buat summer 2013 yang lalu. Meskipun banyak komentar miring soal lagu ini. Ada yang bilang terlalu biasa. Ada yang bilang lagu ini ngejiplak lagu orang. Entahlah, tapi gua ngerasanya kualitas lagu ini diatas rata-rata.

Makna lagu ini bener-bener merepresentasikan hari-hari anak muda zaman sekarang. Ga jauh-jauh dari cinta, lebih tepatnya cinta dalam pandangan, eh engga. Maksut gua kesan pertama.

Ceritanya sih ada dua anak muda (Cowo-cewe pastinya) baru ketemu. Pertemuannya ya singkat-singkat aja. Tapi si cowok ngerasa kalo si cewe udah langsung nyuri hatinya (Straight into my heart and stole it). Next, si cowo minta hatinya dibalikin tapi si cewe ngerasa dia ngga pernah merebut hati si cowo. (I said, "Can you give it back to me?", She said, "Never in your wildest dreams"). Akhirnya mereka bersenang-senang malam itu.

Dia ngeyakinin cewenya kalo dia ngga bakal ngelupain cewe itu, dia juga yakin kalo si cewe bakal inget soal pertemuan mereka yang berkesan itu. "Best Song Ever" disini adalah lagu yang ngiringin mereka pas nari dan bersenang-senang malam itu.

Lagu ini berhasil stay di posisi #2 U.S. Billboard. Pencapaian ini ngga lepas dari bantuan para Directioners yang nontonin MV mereka. Dan MV Best Song Ever ini sempat memegang VEVO 24-hour record dengan 12.3 juta view. Tapi ngga lama setelah itu rekornya dipecahin lagi sama lagu yang super sensasional di tahun 2013 ini, apa? Haha.
