Ed Sheeran - Sing

Jelang musim panas 2014 banyak penyanyi yang ngluarin album atau single barunya buat memanaskan pasar musik dunia. Ed Sheeran salah satunya. Cowok kelahiran Inggris ini siap buat meluncurkan sophomore albumnya yang bertitel X. Buat pemanasan, Ed sudah merilis satu single dari album ini. Ada "Sing" yang diproyeksikan sebagai lead single album ini.

Sing secara resmi dirilis tanggal 7 April 2014 via Atlantic Records. Gua pertama kali denger lagu ini satu hari sebelum UN dan gua langsung suka sama lagu ini. Jadi, curhat, ya. Halah.

Dibuka dengan beat dan petikan gitar di awal, kemudian hilang sejenak saat vokal Ed Sheeran masuk. Tapi ga lama, beat tadi muncul lagi menambah asiknya lagu. Hook-hooknya Ed Sheeran di awal emang catchy dan bikin kuping betah dengernya. Pas bagian chorus, Ed nunjukkin kemampuan falsetnya yang luar biasa. Gua sempet mikir kalau falsetnya tuh mirip-mirip Robin Thicke, ya. Atau Justin Timberlake? Hahah.

Lagu ini penuh dengan unsur RnB, pop, juga dance. Emang agak menyimpang dari jalur normalnya Ed Sheeran. Mungkin ini karena campur tangan Pharell Williams di hits yang satu ini. FYI aja sih, Pharell yang memproduseri lagu ini. Di lagu ini Ed Sheeran juga menunjukkan kemampuannya nge-rap. Nice try, lah pokoknya.

Bagian favorit gua di lagu ini adalah pas bridge. Can you feel it? Hooknya catchy abis, stuck di kepala. Apalagi pas Ed Sheeran mulai falset lagi. Beeuh. Keren. Usahanya Ed Sheeran buat bikin lagu ini jadi asik patut gua acungi jempol. Gua ngga ngira Ed Sheeran bisa segininya. Hahaha.

Lagu ini bercerita soal seorang cowok yang lagi jatuh cinta dan pinginnya berduaan terus sama ceweknya. Ga boleh ada seorang pun yang ngganggu. Dunia serasa milik berdua. Alah apa boa ini.

Kalo dari skala 1-5 kaya biasanya, gua pingin ngasih 4.5/5 buat lagu ini. "Sing" bener-bener bikin gua pengen ikutan nyanyi. Lagu ini juga cocok buat dijadiin lead single album kaya gini. Sing baru aja debut di posisi #15 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 dan ngga menutup kemungkinan bakal terus meroket.
